Badge collection

Posted by wcmlibrary on April 14, 2010

Our badge collection has recently been added to the Adlib online catalogue, thanks to two volunteers. They have sorted, listed and re-packaged the badges into plastic pockets and folders to protect them and make them easy to view.Image of an Amalgamated Union of Building Trade Workers, 50 years loyalty badge

We have badges from trade unions, the Communist Party and Labour Party and many campaigns including, international solidarity, peace, anti-nuclear, Miners Strike 1984-1985, unemployment, health service, Local Government and anti-racism. Most of the badges are simple tin badges and some of them have been hand drawn. Many of the trade union badges are enamel and can be very detailed and striking.

The badges can be searched in the archives section of our online catalogue www.wcml.org.uk/catalogue/adlib-catalogue/
